Popular questions
How long does a withdrawal take?
From a public fund, you withdraw directly and the money arrives in your account in the same step. From a private fund, the manager has to accept your withdrawal order first. Orders last 24 hours, your shares stay in your account until it goes through, and you can cancel before then.
What is a force redeem?
A way to leave a fund without the manager. Your shares are set aside, you wait for a period set by the OpenMF protocol (the screen shows exactly when you can finish), then you finish it to be paid your share of what the fund holds. You can cancel at any point before you finish.
What if part of a fund can’t be sent when I force redeem?
Anything the fund holds that can’t be delivered to you stays with the fund’s other investors and can’t be claimed later. The app shows this before you confirm and asks you to acknowledge it.
Can OpenMF or a manager take my money?
Managers run a fund’s strategy but can never move investors’ assets out of the fund. Your cash and shares sit in your own OpenMF account, which only your sign-in method controls.
Can I withdraw to my bank account?
Not yet. You can send your cash (USDC) to any wallet or exchange account that accepts it on the same network, then sell it there. Sends can’t be reversed, so check the address carefully.
Why does my order say “Needs more money”?
A private fund order only goes through if your account holds enough cash when the manager accepts it. Add money before the order expires, or cancel it from the Orders tab.
Can I borrow against my shares?
Not yet. OpenMF’s lending market isn’t open, so loans and leverage aren’t available. The Loans pages show how they will work.
I can’t sign in. What can I do?
Try another sign-in method you set up (a different passkey, Google or an email link). If none of them work, contact us. We will never ask for your passkey, codes or recovery phrase.
